Q: “Where is will call located?”

A: If you are picking up at Will Call before Friday, May 14 at 5:00 p.m., come to our office at 14020 Dawn Boulevard, Doswell, Virginia 23047 (Hotlink to directions) If you are picking up Will Call on Saturday Morning, May 15 prior to the Race, come to the Shuttle Bus Location at Richmond Raceway Complex, Gate 6 off of Carolina Avenue.

THERE IS NO WILL CALL AT COLONIAL DOWNS.

Q: “How do I get to Colonial Downs?”

A: Colonial Downs is located near I-64 between Richmond and Williamsburg near Providence Forge. Take I-64 exit #214 south, turn right onto Route 155. Entrance to Colonial Downs will be on the left. Reserved Space Holders should take Route 60 (Williamsburg Rd.) to Route 155, entrance to Colonial Downs will be on the right.

Q: “When is the best time to arrive?”

A: Gates open at 11:00 a.m. It is recommended to arrive before 1:00 p.m.; arriving early is best to avoid traffic and crowds.

Q: “How long does the event last?”

A: Gates open at 11:00 a.m. with the first race beginning at 1:30 p.m. the last race and final awards taking place around 6:00-6:30 p.m. Gates close at 8 p.m.

Q: “How long does the Shuttle Service run?”

A: The shuttle service runs from Richmond Raceway Complex to Colonial Downs beginning at 11:30 a.m. continuing throughout the day. The last shuttle will depart Colonial Downs at 8:00 p.m.

Q: “Where do I go to watch the races?”

A: Two areas are available for general patrons, the grandstand and the infield. Reserved Parking spaces are for Reserved Space Holders and their invited guests only.

Q: “What should I wear?”

A: In the Sponsor Area, Jockey Club and SkySuites , men typically wear sportscoats and/or ties, while ladies choose dress pants, skirts, dresses and hats. On the inner and outer rails, khakis and sun dresses are the norm. Dressing with the theme in mind adds to the fun and overall atmosphere. Jeans, shorts and T-shirts are discouraged.

Q: “Is there food available for sale at the races?”

A: Food is available at the concession stands with numerous items including smoothies and coffee drinks. You may bring your own food and beverages. NO GLASS CONTAINERS.

Q: “Are alcoholic beverages permitted?”

A: Alcohol is permitted. Guests who choose to drink should do so responsibly. Strawberry Hill Races Management prohibits guests from engaging in drinking games or bringing devices such as beer bongs, ice luges or other drinking paraphernalia. All guests will abide by the laws of the Commonwealth, including those related to alcohol consumption.

Q: “Can I purchase souvenirs?”

A: Yes, in addition to race souvenirs, shoppers can purchase distinctive hats, sunglasses, cigars and equine art and jewelry. There will be vendors with Strawberry Hill Races merchandise on site.

Q: “Are pets allowed?”

A: No pets are allowed at this event.

Q: “Are the races ever cancelled?”

A: The races go on rain or shine. There are no refunds or exchanges.

Q: “What size vehicle can I get in with a carload pass?”

A: NO OVERSIZE vehicles are allowed. Nothing larger than a normal personal vehicle is allowed. There are to be NO limos, 10, 12, or 14-15 passenger vans, mini busses, campers, and larger as they are considered oversized vehicles and require either a $250 limo pass or a $700 busload pass. No trailers may be pulled behind vehicles.

Q: “What if I don't receive my spaceholder packet?”

A: Replacement packets are not issued until Thursday, May 7th. A replacement fee of $10 per ticket will be charged. You can pick up your replacement at Will Call or if you wish to have your packet overnighted to you, an additional $17 charge will apply.
